Atlas Society International represents the integration of two powerful legacies: the Ayn Rand Center Europe’s expertise in educational programming and The Atlas Society’s scholarly excellence, authentic content, and extensive reach. Together, we offer a dynamic platform for promoting the philosophy of Objectivism to a global audience.
The Ayn Rand Center Europe has been a cornerstone of Objectivist education, with initiatives like the John Galt School and the New Intellectuals Conference, reaching thousands of participants. These programs have inspired individuals to think critically, act independently, and champion the values of liberty.
Building on this robust foundation, Atlas Society International is committed to broadening the impact of Objectivist ideas. Through innovative programs, engaging events, and thought-provoking content, we provide intellectual alternatives to dominant cultural narratives. By shifting these ideas into the Overton window of mainstream discourse, we aim to make them an influential force in shaping the future.
Our mission is guided by Ayn Rand’s vision of a new intellectual movement - one that fosters a world grounded in reason, individualism, and laissez-faire capitalism. Atlas Society International empowers the next generation of thinkers and leaders to drive this revolution in ideas, paving the way for a freer, more rational society.
The John Galt School is a global educational program rooted in Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism. It offers participants a structured and engaging way to explore essential ideas in metaphysics, ethics, politics, economics, and art. Combining lectures, debates, and interactive workshops, the program creates an environment where students don’t just learn Objectivist concepts but actively apply them to their lives. It challenges conventional beliefs, fosters critical thinking, and provides practical tools for understanding and shaping the world through reason, individualism, and liberty. With its focus on personal and intellectual growth, the John Galt School stands out as a transformative experience for anyone seeking clarity, purpose, and a deeper understanding of Ayn Rand’s groundbreaking ideas.
The program’s journey began in 2015 in Belgrade, Serbia, as a small, local initiative. What started as a modest project has grown into a global phenomenon, with the school delivered 104 times across more than 50 countries. To date, over 2,000 participants have experienced its impact. Many alumni have taken these lessons further, themselves now teaching Objectivism at John Galt Schools and other educational programs, and becoming active advocates of the philosophy that first inspired them.
Each school is designed to create a focused and engaging atmosphere, with approximately 25 participants carefully chosen through a competitive selection process. By partnering with trusted local organizations, the program brings its transformative approach to societies around the world, adapting to meet the unique needs of each market.
The John Galt School is more than an educational program, it’s a place where ideas ignite action. Whether it’s helping participants clarify their goals, reshape their thinking, or take bold steps toward a freer, more purposeful life, the school empowers individuals to make lasting changes - in their own lives and in the world they’re building.
The New Intellectuals Conference (NICON) is our annual event in Europe that strengthens the John Galt School alumni network and fosters the growth of the global Objectivist community. By bringing together students, lecturers, and advocates of Ayn Rand’s philosophy, NICON serves as a hub for intellectual exchange, collaboration, and inspiration.
The conference takes its name from Ayn Rand’s For the New Intellectual, where she calls for a new generation of thinkers to challenge the destructive ideologies that dominate culture. Rand argued that intellectuals shape society through their ideas and urged the emergence of leaders who uphold reason, individual rights, and laissez-faire capitalism. NICON advances this vision by providing a platform for future thought leaders to connect, share their insights, and contribute to a culture rooted in human flourishing.
Since its launch in 2022, the New Intellectuals Conference has been hosted in Prague, Belgrade, and Budapest, attracting 320 participants from around the world. These gatherings combine thought-provoking lectures, engaging discussions, and networking opportunities, empowering attendees to deepen their understanding of Objectivism and strengthen their role within the movement.
Through NICON, the ideas of Objectivism gain momentum as participants exchange perspectives, forge meaningful connections, and work toward building a freer and more rational world. This annual event ensures the long-term sustainability and impact of the John Galt School alumni network while cultivating the intellectual foundation necessary for future cultural and societal transformation.
