Universities are often accused of violating students' "rights," especially their rights to free speech and due process. But universities are not governments, and these "rights violations" do not involve the initiation of force.

This webinar will explore the relationship between "student rights" and the rights of man, showing how rights language can be both misleading and informative in this context, and advocating the adoption of rights-like principles on campus.

Alexander R. Cohen is the Managing Editor of the Atlas Society's Business Rights Center and an Associate Scholar at The Atlas Society. You can read his blog and other articles on business rights on our website. He earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism at American University and a law degree at the University of Pennsylvania before beginning extensive graduate work in philosophy at the City University of New York, the University of Virginia, and the Atlas Society Graduate Seminar, where he has served as an instructor.
